Free time?
Free time? It’s been so long now since I’ve experienced it. I work out of the house a couple of days of week, so I don’t lose my last professional license. I’ve already allowed most of them to expire; the Series 7, 63, 65 and insurance. I didn’t enjoy being a stockbroker. Now I’m back to trading daily for my own amusement. But even that doesn’t hold much interest.
Writing consumes me.
This month I’ve turned in a story to AQ and have another I’ve committed to that needs to be turned in before the month ends. The galley for Lady in a Box arrived yesterday and I need to proof it. The story I’m working on, Unchained Melody has me stumped. I have another story due next month and then four more over the next few months. A new publisher has approached me for a story and I agreed. I owe my New York publisher an option book. And I’ve not yet submitted to Kate Duffy, per her request from finalling and winning the Brava Anthology Reader’s Choice. When do I have time to fry deviled eggs?
In all honesty, it never would have occurred to me. What I would like to do now that I’m back in Ohio…paint. I want to paint pictures of covered bridges and old barns. And trees…I like to paint trees…but I hate climbing ladders…
Coming in two weeks!
