About Brit...

Brit Blaise grew up with a deep and abiding love for books. She believes in dark and dangerous heroes; strong women who aren't afraid to think for themselves; head-over-heels love; fairy tale endings and that it's more fun to laugh than to cry, but doing both at the same time is best of all.

Master Storyteller

Brit Blaise is a master storyteller. The characters in Time Thieves jump off the pages and the storyline is both action packed and exciting. The love scenes are so hot you'll be challenged to catch your breath. I hope that this is the beginning of a wonderful new series because I would love to hear Peck's tale. Or Lawzard's. - Two Lips

Post number 43…Rita from South Africa. Rita I hope to hear back you’ve enjoyed the book! As soon as I finish writing this I’ll send your copy.

I want to thank everyone for the outstanding participation. And I’d like to invite everyone who’d like a second chance to say hello to Rita here and I’ll enter your name in a second contest to win another copy of

Knights of the Magical Realm: Warriors Gone Wild.

I had a few people who seemed to think this whole affair worried me…while I wasn’t happy I’d screwed up so badly…I refuse to get crazy about anything other than the health and welfare of my loved ones.

I learned a long time ago I need to smile and shrug it off. One time comes to mind in art class when the teacher called me up to his desk. This usually wasn’t a good thing, but it was art! I hurried up to the front of the class and sat down in the chair next to him. …Only it wasn’t a chair! I’d sat in the wastepaper basket. And of course I was stuck with my knees to my chin. I made class president that year and I think it was because everyone wanted to see what would happen next!

Anyway, thanks from the bottom of my heart. Writing is such an isolating job and right now I need to connect with people… As I was driving Tiff home from chemo today, I was struck about how our large family has almost all gone…I’m too young to have lost so many, so fast. I guess this is something everyone goes through, but it really sucks!

Just ignore that last paragraph and happy reading, Rita!

Drawing on December 1st.

Congrats Rita!!! I would love to visit South Africa. It sounds so different from Canada.

I think of “The Lion King” and all those safari animals. It must be warm there, right? It was in the 40’s here today.

For Brit, just keep writing. It helps you deal with family issues somewaht by allowing your mind to enter into another zone.
    Cherie

  24. Tammy G. Says:

    Hi, Rita

  25. Beth Says:

Wow Africa how cool it that

  26. Brit Blaise Says:

I wish Rita would come back and tell us about herself…about what life in South Africa is like. Cherie, you’re right. When I’m immersed in a story I don’t think so much about what’s happening or… Chemo week I don’t get much done though. That’s why I missed the VOS meeting this week.

  27. Rita Says:

Oh boy now you’ll having me chatting non stop *lol* I’m situated in South Africa (yep far down south on da very end tip of Africa *ha ha*) So depending where you are on the timezone I’m either ahead of behind in timewize. If any of you ever wish to visit our rainbow country, I thought I would give you some background on what to do.

Our beaches among the world’s best, the scenery spectacular, but it’s our national parks definitely the number one tourist attraction. The parks are everything and more of what you have seen on nature documentaries and among the pages of National Geographic magazine. Kruger National Park situated in northern province (about 4 hours drive from Johannesburg) is one of the best parks in Africa, if not the world. The park is home to all of the “big five” animals (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, black rhino). The country stretches nearly 2000 kilometres from north to south and 1500 kilometres from east to west.

Weather in South Africa is not soo hectic as in the northern hemisphere. South Africa is one of the sunniest countries in the world. The coldest we get to sometimes in the early morning in winter is about 2°C and picks up to 18°C (very rare that we go into minus). The warmer months are October through to May where temperatures will average about 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. Evenings can become cool, regardless of the season. We get snow on the Drakensberg range. But in late 80’s we did get a freak snowstorm that occurred in Johannesburg in the month of September which lasted for a day (which was really awesome walking home from school in the snow and having snow fights, building a snowman…grin) but never again only happened then *sigh*. Only bit of dew on the grass and rain showers at the most. No tornados, hurricanes. Drought is sometimes an issue for us, don’t have that many lakes. Yep summer season now so basically sunshine all the way through.

Gosh I sound either like a travel consultant or weatherman. But hope that gives you all a bit about South Africa *wink*

  28. kaisquared Says:

Send us some sunshine and heat, Rita! It is sleeting out here in Wisconsin as I write this Congrats!

  29. Rita Says:

Hey Kaisquared thanks. Wish I could follow some sunshine through *lol*, but we are experiencing some heavy rain here too ;o)

  30. Rita Says:
